Scholastic Media has inked two new US licensing deals for its multi-media series The 39 Clues.
It’s tapped Apex Marketing to develop t-shirts for distribution this fall and Bioworld to develop backpacks exclusively for the Borders Group for the same time period. They join existing licensees University Games, Trends and MEAD.
Aimed at children ages eight to 12, The 39 Clues spans 10 books/audio books, hundreds of collectible game cards and a website that allows readers to play a role in the story and compete for prizes. Movie rights for The 39 Clues have been acquired by DreamWorks Studios, and the series has been licensed for publication in 22 languages. Scholastic Media also recently launched The 39 Clues Madrigal Maze App for the iPhone and iPod touch.
