In the spirit of looking for adventure (not sure about the smoke, lightning or heavy metal thunder, though), Canadian tooncaster Teletoon is hitting the highway this summer, taking a true cross-country road trip in support of its fall schedule. Kids will get a sneak peek at both the net’s new slate and its offshoot channel, Retro (launching in October) during the 10-stop tour sponsored by Wonderbread+. The event kicked-off in Gatineau, Quebec on July 1 and will head to Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Moncton before wrapping up in Ontario on September 1.
Besides offering Teletoon fans a chance to check out the programming, the tour will give them the opportunity to get into the picture with their favourite characters, try out online games and compete in a Teletoon trivia test. And outside of Quebec, kids can engage in activities such as hotdog bowling and square-bagel basketball, thanks to co-sponsors Weston Foods (maker of Wonder+) and media management company PHD.
