UYoung gets Messy

The Chinese distributor picked up the media rights and signed an equity investment deal for seasons one and two of Eye Present’s animated series.

China’s UYoung has acquired the content and merchandising rights in the country for seasons one and two of UK prodco Eye Present’s Messy Goes to Okido. The Chinese distributor also made an equity investment in the property, giving it a share of the international revenues.

Recently commissioned for a third season of 26 x 11-minute eps by British pubcaster CBeebies, the animated preschool series is produced by Doodle Productions and Eye Present. The 78 x 11-minute show, is based on the Okido magazine, which is also owned and produced by Doodle. It covers STEAM learning topics, including why humans dreams, what genes are and what renewable energy is.

On top of the recent series advancements, Doodle recently opened an e-commerce platform for the show featuring a range of toys, books, artworks, DVDs, music and the magazine.
