Turner has partnered with Australia’s Headstart International to co-produce an animated series based on the toyco’s Best Furry Friends collectibles brand (pictured). The 13 x 11-minute toon will premiere on Turner’s Australian Boomerang channel in March.

As part of the agreement, Cartoon Network will manage first-window broadcast rights to the series in additional global markets.

The CGI-animated comedy focuses on six central Best Furry Friends characters. A pilot episode is already available on YouTube and has generated more than one million views. Eventually, the series will roll out on Boomerang’s digital platforms, as well as on the Best Furry Friends YouTube channel.

Headstart International’s toy range for the IP currently includes collectibles, dolls and plush, with playsets and interactive toys on deck to hit retail soon.

Turner has been expanding its content library on Boomerang of late, most recently snapping up TeamTO’s Mighty Mike for a global debut in late 2018.
