Disney’s unscripted series Bug Juice: My Adventures at Camp is set to premiere on July 16, two decades after it first launched in 1998. The series will air Monday through Thursday evenings throughout the summer on Disney Channel, the DisneyNOW app and Disney Channel VOD.

The return of Bug Juice: My Adventures at Camp follows a new group of kids as they form friendships, take part in team activities and live away from home at Camp Waziyatah in Waterford, Maine. The 16-part series features animated emoticons, boomerang shots and on-screen memes.

The new episodes—which feature a return to the location of the original series—are produced by Evolution Media (Movie Surfers, Totally in Tune and Totally Hoops). Bug Juice: My Adventures at Camp is executive produced by Douglas Ross, Alex Baskin, Tina Gazzero Clapp and Toni Gallagher. Ross, Clapp and Gallagher were all involved in the production of the original series.

The launch falls in line with the recent wave of unscripted kids content, including CBBC’s new talent search show Can You Kick It?, as well as the competition series The Big Fun Crafty Show and the makeover series Get Out Of My Room, both from NBCUniversal-owned Universal Kids.
