Wisconsin-based toy and game company PlayMonster has acquired the privately held UK-based toymaker Interplay. The agreement, which marks PlayMonster’s first international acquisition, covers Interplay’s operations and full brand portfolio.

PlayMonster and Interplay first partnered in 2016, when PlayMonster picked up a North American license for Interplay’s My Fairy Garden brand (pictured). In addition to My Fairy Garden, Interplay’s brands include FabLab, Fuzzikins Craft, My Mermaid Lagoon, CraftBox, My Living World and myStyle.

According to PlayMonster, the acquisition is its largest to date and will lead to growth in existing markets through new and incremental product categories.

In 2016, PlayMonster made a number of acquisitions including the collectible wooden toy vehicle range Automoblox, as well as the LA-based company Roominate, home to the tech-centric construction toy of the same name.
