Animated web series Bee and Puppycat (pictured) and YouTube non-fiction hits Kids React and Kid President are among the nominees for the fifth annual Streamy Awards, which salute the best in YouTube, online video and the creators behind it all.

Among the Streamy categories encompassing kid-friendly content are Animated, Non-Fiction, Science or Education and Kids & Family. Within the latter category, channel Shaytards, which follows the everyday life of a family of seven, are among the nominees. And the science-themed It’s Okay To Be Smart is among the five nominees in the Science or Education category.

Meanwhile, a new Breakout Creator category recognizes 19-year-old American YouTube personality Jenn McAllister, who runs jennxpenn, jennxpenngames and jenn and has more than two million subscribers.

The awards will air for the first time in the US on live TV via VH1, along with its digital platforms, on September 17. (Last year’s Streamy Awards garnered more than seven million views on YouTube.) Also a first for the event is the addition of a Social Video category to include content on Instagram, Snapchat and Vine.

And speaking of Snapchat, scripted series SnapperHero, which launched in January, received the most nominations with six total (including Best Actress for Anna Akana), while Epic Rap Battles of History and Video Game High School were tied for second with four nominations each. The nominees for fan-voted awards Entertainer of the Year and Show of the Year, meanwhile, will be announced on September 3, and people can vote for their favorite finalists leading up to and during the live show on September 17.
