Fox-owned BabyTV, the 24/7 commercial-free channel geared to babies and toddlers, is rolling out new animated series Animal Party and a corresponding mobile app.

Premiering on April 6 on BabyTV, the series is slated to run daily during the channel’s 5:48 a.m., 5:18 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (GMT) programming slots.

Animal Party (10 x six minutes) follows MJ the monkey and his Grandma as they explore the wildlife around them. Grandma uses her tablet to show MJ nature videos, while the ever-curious MJ asks questions like why certain animals have tails or trunks or where they live and eat. At the end of each episode, the cast gathers to help solve Grandma’s riddle.

Meant to be an interactive experience, the show targeting infants to four-year-olds aims to teach kids about the animal kingdom and encourages them to ask questions.

The Animal Party app is also launching on April 6. Available for iOS, Android and Kindle devices, the free app features a roster of videos and games such as riddles, peekaboo and puzzles. Video content include clips about various animals, and through the videos, kids can listen to Grandma explain facts about each animal.

BabyTV is available through Dish Network and has a dedicated page on the network’s site. Full episodes of  Animal Party will also be available via the BabyTV mobile app.
