Toronto, Canada-based Breakthrough Entertainment has appointed Craig McGillivray as VP of distribution.
Based out of Breakthrough’s Toronto headquarters, McGillivray will serve in a senior-level role, on both international sales and programming acquisitions.
In his past remit, he served at fellow Canuck outfit Peacock Alley Entertainment, in the role VP of distribution.
Prior to that, McGillivray worked with DHX Media as territory manager, handling program sales for Asia, Australia, Latin America and Canada. Before that, he served with Breakthrough as a sales executive, where he handled sales to Eastern and Central Europe, Asia, Australia, Latin America and Canada.
He began his career in TV distribution and programming at Ironstar Communications, the TV programming sales and distribution company founded by his father, Derek McGillivray.
McGillivray’s return to Breakthrough follows a busy December for the company, during which it secured over 100 hours in sales of its kids catalog to broadcasters in Asia.
