In a continued effort to expand its content across digital platforms, Cartoon Network has launched a new app called CN Sayin’. The app puts fans in the driver’s seat, letting them create short videos of themselves acting like a TV host or quoting their favorite shows.
The videos can then be submitted to CN through the app for a chance to be used on-air as bumpers during Thursday night premieres (6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST/PST). Available for iOS devices, the app takes fans from passive viewing to active engagement with features that let them interact with CN content.
It’s also a sign of the times as CN looks to expand its mobile presence. With traditional kidsnets continuing to evolve, CN Sayin’ is a way for the network to provide content across screens of all sizes, designed specifically for each one. As the company looks to put its content where kids are – i.e. mobile platforms – Cartoon Network also recently announced that it was bringing CN to the friendly skies, as in-flight entertainment for Southwest Airlines.
Following the release of the CN Sayin’ app, Cartoon Network Digital now has more than 24 apps in the App Store. On the TV side, Cartoon Network just renewed five home-grown series, including hit shows Adventure Time, Regular Show, Uncle Grandpa, Steven Universe and Clarence.
