Sofia the First virtual world hits the UK

Furthering its growth in the digital kids space, Disney UK has unveiled Sofia's World, a new online virtual kids destination based on Disney Junior's popular series Sofia the First.

Furthering its growth in the digital kids space, Disney UK has unveiled Sofia’s World, a new online virtual kids destination based on Disney Junior’s popular series Sofia the First.

Aimed at kids ages two to seven, the site lets users create their own princess-in-training avatars, customize rooms (bedroom, playroom and pets corner), earn rewards and play three games including Cupcake Party which helps kids’ motor skills and creative development and Sofia’s Spells which aids in children’s hand-eye coordination and reflexes.

Sofia’s World also gives parents the opportunity to unlock bonus content for their kids via events on Facebook and during television broadcasts of the show.

The digital brand extension follows on the heels of Jake’s World, a similar environment based on the hit Disney Junior series Jake and the Never Land Pirates and the long-running success of Club Penguin.

Sofia the First currently draws an average of 150,000 viewers per episode making it Disney Junior’s top-rated show.
