LeapPad and The Entertainer score at toy awards

The 2011 Toy Industry Awards were handed out last night in London, England and the night’s big winners were the LeapPad Explorer by Leapfrog, UK toy retailer The Entertainer and Hasbro.

The event, which was organized by the British Toy & Hobby Association with the Toy Retailers Association (TRA), was presented at Banqueting House in Central London following day one of the 59^th Toy Fair, which is currently taking place at Olympia in West London.

The LeapPad Explorer won Toy of the Year, Hasbro took home Supplier of the Year, and The Entertainer was awarded Toy Retailer of the Year.

Other notable winners included Val Stedham (TRA Industry Award for services to the toy industry), Bentalls of Kingston (Judges Special Recognition Award for outstanding achievement in toy retail), and Innovation First’s Hexbug range, Interplay’s Craft ranges and TY’s Beanies & Beanie Boos were all given TRA Special Recognition awards.
