Andrews McMeel Universal (Kansas City, Missouri, 816-932-6700): Rebecca Clyma has been promoted to director of licensing. She is responsible for getting exposure for comic strips and columns distributed by Universal Press syndicate. She joined AMU in 1996, where she was national sales manager.

BBC Worldwide (London, England, 44-181-576-2412): Helen Jackson is the new director of independents. She will oversee the investment of independent production and will manage the investment of development funding into a limited number of key properties.

Britt Allcroft (New York, New York, 212-463-9623): David Jacobs will join the company as VP, group head of licensing. He was formerly at the Children’s Television Network, where he was responsible for establishing Sesame Street merchandising activities.

Buena Vista Pictures Marketing (Burbank, California, 818-560-7570): Gigi Semone has been promoted to director, East coast publicity. She will oversee all publicity activities for motion pictures released by Disney, Touchstone and Hollywood Pictures.

Cartoon Network Europe (London, England, 44-171-478-1053): Brett Foraker is the new creative manager of the network’s U.K. feed. He will be responsible for the daily running of the channel, as well as for implementing creative.

Cartoon Network (Atlanta, Georgia, 404-885-2263): Sam Register has been promoted to VP of Cartoon Network Online. He was previously creative director for the division, and has overseen the development and launch of the network’s Web site.

Channel One Network (New York, New York, 212-508-0975): Lara Chait has been promoted to director of marketing and promotions. She was previously manager of marketing and promotions, where she developed programs for clients, including M&M, Mars, Pepsi and AT&T.

Children’s Television Network (New York, New York, 212-595-3456): J. Baxter Urist is the new group president, products and international television. Most recently, he served as senior VP of the product licensing and international television group at CTW. Nina B. Link is the new group president, publishing and new media. In addition to CTW’s publishing endeavors, she will oversee CTW Online. She previously served as senior VP, publishing and new media.

Co-Options (Darien, Connecticut, 203-656-2202): Lisa Gorra and Anne Albanese have been named account directors for the promotions agency which specializes in partnership and sampling programs.

DIC Entertainment (Burbank, California, 818-955-5400): Laura Stone Walston has been appointed director of international licensing for properties like Madeline, Carmen Sandiego, Archie and Mummies Alive. Stone Walston’s previous positions include VP of OH! NO! Inc., director of licensing for Just Toys and director of licensing for Extreme Studios.

Disney Channel (Burbank California, 818-569-7500): Guia Santos is the new senior manager of human resources. In this role, she will be responsible for staffing, employee relations and compensation for the administrative departments.

Disney Consumer Products (Burbank, California, 818-567-5959): Dexter Fedor is the new VP, global brand development. He will be responsible for developing and executing a new worldwide brand model and advertising program for Disney Consumer Products. In a past incarnation as art director for Foote, Cone & Belding, Fedor launched the original Levi’s 501 Blues campaign and created the California Dancing Raisins in 1987. Graham Hopper is now VP of business planning for global merchandise licensing. He was formerly VP of financing for licensing in the U.S. Melissa Segal was promoted to VP, category management and business development within the global merchandising and licensing division. Previously, Segal was U.S. director and divisional merchandise manager for toys and sporting goods at Disney Licensing.

Film Roman (Hollywood, California, 818-761-2544): Mitchell Soloman is the president of the new feature film division. He was previously senior VP at FilmColony.

Fox Family Worldwide (Los Angeles, California, 310-235-5100): Jack D. Samuels is the new senior VP and general counsel, corporate, for Fox Family Worldwide. He will oversee all legal and corporate affairs for the network. Previously, he worked in private practice where he served entertainment industry clients.

Fox Kids has hired Patricia LaVigne as VP, on-air promotions. She was previously with Pittard Sullivan’s European office in Munich. Doug Yates is the new VP, marketing.

The Jim Henson Company (Los Angeles, California, 213-960-4096): Susan Frank has been named executive VP, corporate marketing worldwide. She was previously with the Fox Children’s Network. Craig Allen has been named general manager of Jim Henson Interactive. Allen was previously senior producer at Disney Interactive.

Mattel (El Segundo, California, 310-252-2000): Richard Sanderson is the new VP and managing director for Mattel in the U.K. and Ireland. He was formerly with Black & Decker, and he replaces Denis Horton, who left Mattel earlier this year.

Nickelodeon (New York, New York, 212-258-7500): Kevin Kay has been named senior VP, production. He was previously VP/executive producer for development of series and specials.

Pixar Animation Studio (Richmond, California, 510-236-4000): David Silverman has joined the studio to direct animated films. He was previously with DreamWorks Feature Animation, before which, he worked closely with Matt Groening as a key creative on The Simpsons.

Psygnosis (Foster City, California, 650-287-6562): Harry Vitelli is the new VP, marketing. He will be responsible for increasing brand recognition and market share.

Salsa Distribution (Paris, France, 33-14-413-6379): Xavier Gonzalez del Valle was appointed marketing manager. He will be responsible for implementing marketing strategies and coordinating all promotional activities for the company.

The Gepetto Group (New York, New York, 212-462-8140): The agency, which specializes in the youth and teen markets, has appointed Marc Greengrass as account director. He was formerly senior account supervisor at Saatchi & Saatchi’s Kid Connection.

Toys `R’ Us (Paramus, New Jersey, 201-262-7800): Robert Moran has been named the new president of Toys `R’ Us Canada. He was previously with Sears Roebuck as president and CEO of Sears de Mexico.

Walt Disney Records (Burbank, California, 818-973-4375): Gina Weiss has been promoted to the position of national sales director. She was formerly national sales administration manager.

Walt Disney Television International (London, England, 44-181-222-1255): David Hulbery is the senior VP and managing director of European broadcasting, and David Snyder is the new senior VP, programming and creative development for European broadcasting.
