YouTube sensations Toys and Colors join Mark Rober on science series

The former NASA scientist shows off wild STEM experiments in a new video partnership with pocket.watch engineered to boost each other's brands.

YouTubers Toys and Colors and former NASA engineer Mark Rober have teamed up for a series of science-focused videos to demonstrate how learning can be a blast.

The first of these episodes launched two days ago on the Toys and Colors channel and Rober’s CrunchLabs channels. They will all feature the Toys and Colors kids joining Rober in his studio lab for hands-on science experiments, including exploding foam chemistry and navigating a giant laser maze (pictured).

The channels plan to launch three videos each, says a spokesperson for pocket.watch, which manages global franchise growth for Toys and Colors.

Each channel filmed its own videos at Rober’s CrunchLabs studio/lab. The goal is to blend Rober’s expert science knowledge with the kid-friendly and fun style of Toys and Colors to create content that’s both fun and educational, says the same pocket.watch spokesperson.

Toys and Colors, which focuses on roleplay, education and songs, has more than 127 million subscribers across its channels and generates 3.5 billion views each month, says Chase Landau, pocket.watch’s SVP of creator partnerships. The company signed on to expand the YouTube brand with new content, distribution and consumer products in 2021. Since then, pocket.watch has brought in Bonkers Toys as the master toy partner for Toys and Colors Kaleidoscope City, as well as launching the series’ musical singles through Republic Records Kids and Family.

Rober, who has more than 69 million subscribers on YouTube, creates educational and scientific videos, often with an exciting twist. Recent video “I Built a Roller Coaster In My Lab” (a Phineas and Ferb collab to promote the rebooted series) was released on June 21 and already has more than four million views.

Moose Toys signed a multi-year global licensing deal for a new toy line with Rober in May. These STEM products are expected to hit shelves worldwide in summer 2026. Rober’s media company CrunchLabs also runs a subscription box business that sends eight- to 13-year-olds science and engineering kits each month. Last week, CrunchLabs hired former Lionsgate Alternative content EVP Scott Lewers as chief content officer to run its studio. Lewers was an EP on Hasbro’s Trivial Pursuit series and previously worked with Rober on the Discovery series Revengineers. In his new role, Lewers will expand CrunchLabs’s original content portfolio, secure partnerships with other creators, and develop curriculum content that can be localized for schools worldwide.
