Pocket.watch has inked a lead deal to start its consumer products expansion of digital-first series Toys and Colors Kaleidoscope City.
San Diego’s Bonkers Toys has joined the IP as a master toy partner, and is developing global publishing and play ranges that are expected to include products for preschoolers, as well as role-play and pretend-play SKUs. Bonkers and pocket.watch are already partners on a toy line for Ryan’s World that’s available in North American Walmart stores.
A series of three Toys and Colors books for preschoolers will be published by author Patrick Carman through his PC Studio imprint. PC has partnered with Scholastic, Penguin Random House and HarperCollins in the past, and claims that its books—with more than 50 million copies currently in the market—have generated upwards of US$100 million in revenue.
Toys and Colors Kaleidoscope City (10 x 22 minutes) is a live-action/CG-animated series designed to teach kids about empathy and how to look at the world in new ways. It’s available on eight Toys and Colors YouTube channels, which collectively have 109 million subscribers, as well as on Roku and Pocket.watch’s Ryan and Friends Plus channel. The brand also has two singles out from Republic Records Kids and Family and an animated character on Cameo.
