Pocket.watch is partnering with children’s YouTube channel Toys and Colors to launch its newest franchise. Launching in spring 2022, Kaleidoscope City will include a hybrid live-action/animated series, consumer products, gaming, podcasts and live events.

The Toys and Colors channel (32.5 million subscribers) features a cast of Asian-American kids who showcase brightly colored toys and activities. Its videos are available in six different languages and have generated more than 32 billion views to date.

Pocket.watch’s Kaleidoscope City brand focuses on the importance of diversity, empathy and conflict management. Created by chief content officer Albie Hecht, Toys and Colors in Kaleidoscope will combine the Toys and Colors ensemble with several CG-animated characters against photorealistic backgrounds. Production on the original series is underway using the Unreal Game Engine.

Kaleidoscope City joins Pocket.watch’s growing portfolio of creator-based kids and family franchises, such as Ryan’s World and Love, Diana. The company launched Ryan’s World in 2018 with a toy and apparel range, and the brand has since expanded to include Nickelodeon’s live-action game series Ryan’s Mystery Playdate. Love, Diana rolled out last year, and Pocket.watch inked a content and CP deal for the IP with Dubai’s Spacetoon in March.
