Telenica Canal 8, Nicaragua’s national kidcaster, has picked up five seasons of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters and three of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.

The popular anime series will air in Spanish in 2017. Konami Digital Entertainment, the subsidiary that handles the brand for 4K Media outside of Asia, brokered the deal.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters follows Joey, Tristan and Tea as they play the card battling game, Duel Monsters. Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, meanwhile, takes place several years after Duel Monsters, and follows the next generation at Duel Academy.

This move follows the announcement of a 2017 North American launch for the movie, Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions. Also earlier this year Yu-Gi-Oh! ventured into the Middle East and North Africa for the first time and scored a licensing deal in Australia and New Zealand with Coverpoint Marketing.
