Cartoon Network Anything, the kidnet’s 15-month-old branded app that houses content created directly for mobile devices, has touched down in the Southeast Asian market.
The free app, which is now available for download on the App Store and Google Play for smartphones and tablets, offers a continuous stream of content consisting of games, activities, super-fast trivia quizzes and interactive videogames, all of which are roughly 15 seconds in length. After a user finishes with one item, they swipe the screen to move on to the next. The perpetually updated stream is delivered randomly.
The Southeast Asia debut of Cartoon Network Anything will mark the premiere of original animated micro-series Mighty Magiswords in the region, along with a slew of new Asia Pacific-made short-form content including Beat Monsters from Korea, Lamput from India and Bill & Tony from Australia.
Anything‘s regional launch falls in line with Cartoon Network’s global mobile expansion plans, and the app will sit alongside the Cartoon Network Watch and Play, the net’s popular TV Everywhere app. Recent research conducted in Cartoon Network’s New Generations 2015 study revealed that in smartphone households in Southeast Asia with children, 86% of kids use apps at least weekly. And those aged four to 14 are accessing on average five apps every month.
