After successfully licensing its series to kids cable channels globally, and producing original content for Netflix and its AwesomenessTV-operated digital platforms, DreamWorks Animation is set to launch its first-ever 24/7 kids and family television channel across 19 countries in Asia.

The company’s new Singapore-based partner, HBO Asia, will manage affiliate sales, marketing and technical services for the channel, which is expected to bow in the second half of 2015.

The new DreamWorks-branded network supports the company’s strategy to distribute its content library to the most viewers, regions and platforms around the world. DWA’s library currently includes 2,000 hours of existing DreamWorks TV programs and more than 1,200 half hours of original animation currently in production, including new series based on IPs acquired from Classic Media.

DreamWorks expects the channel will provide more original content than any other kids channel in the region, with a lineup featuring brand-new original Netflix series such as All Hail King Julien and Puss in Boots, as well as new seasons of DreamWorks Dragons.

Additional new series VeggieTales in the House and DinoTrux are scheduled to anchor the channel’s daily morning preschool block.

DWA’s theatrical releases and consumer products programs will also be supported in the region by the new network.
