UK-based preschool TV app Hopster has secured new distribution deals with Freesat, Amazon Fire TV and EE TV to bring its catalog of content to smart TVs across the region.
With these deals in place, Hopster expands its reach to more than one million households in the UK, according to the company. A monthly fee of US$6.43 grants subscribers access to Hopster on all supported TVs, as well as the Hopster iOS app. Downloaded by more than 180,000 users to date, the app features learning games in addition to TV content.
On satellite platform Freesat’s connected TV service Freetime, Amazon’s Fire TV and EE TV, the Hopster service will include ad-free episodes of Bob the Builder, Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom, Pingu, Max & Ruby and Angelina Ballerina.
Just under a year old, Hopster also continues to grow its library, recently inking an exclusive deal with producer/distributor Magic Light Pictures for TV specials The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child. It’s the first time the specials have appeared on an SVOD service.
