Jetpack Distribution has acquired international distribution rights (excluding China, New Zealand and MENA) to new CG-animated series Panda and Kiwi.
China’s CCTV Animation and NHNZ Worldwide in New Zealand are co-producing this 52 x 10-minute comedy for kids ages four to seven. It follows the adventures of a panda and his pals as they try to avoid being captured by a wildlife smuggler on an uncharted island in the South Pacific. The show premiered on CCTV (China) and TVNZ+ (New Zealand) in 2021, and Jetpack will be pitching it to more buyers at MIPTV later this month.
Panda and Kiwi is part of a growing mini-library of international co-pros under CCTV Animation’s Panda+ brand, which aims to highlight animals from different countries by pairing them in adventures with its star panda Hehe. The studio has already launched Panda and Krash (2021) with Riki Group in Russia and Hong Kong’s Fun Union, as well as Panda and Rooster (2019) with Stopline in Portugal.
