Kidscreen has confirmed that Nickelodeon is developing a new spinoff series tied to its popular Victorious franchise.

Hollywood Arts (working title) is a multi-cam sitcom revolving around Trina—the older sister of protagonist Tori in Nick’s musical comedy series Victorious, which aired on the channel from 2010 to 2013.

Set at a prestigious performing arts high school, Victorious (pictured) followed a group of young students as they put their musical talents to the test while navigating goofy situations and relatable adolescent struggles.

This new series will see Trina return to Hollywood Arts High School as a teacher overseeing a new generation of students. It’s not yet known if other cast members from the original—including Ariana Grande and Victoria Justice—will also make appearances.

While Hollywood Arts has not been greenlit yet, casting is underway, with actor Daniella Monet set to reprise her role as Trina and also serve as an EP along with Jake Farrow (Henry Danger) and Samantha Martin (Erin & Aaron). Dan Schneider, who created the franchise, will not be involved in this project.

If greenlit, Hollywood Arts will mark the second Victorious spinoff, following the relatively short-lived Sam & Cat, which aired on Nick from 2013 to 2014.

During its four-season run, the original series gained a strong fan following and scored four Emmy nominations, including two nods for Outstanding Children’s Program in 2011 and 2012. The show reached a ratings high with its season-two premiere, which saw 6.1 million viewers tune in. On the consumer products front, Victorious spawned a toy range from Spin Master and an exclusive line of Walmart products, including apparel and school supplies.
