With the dust still settling on three recent corporate acquisitions, Genius Brands International has brought in former Disney exec Zrinka Dekic (pictured) to manage it all.
Starting as CFO and head of strategy, mergers and acquisitions today, Dekic will draw on her expertise in these areas. She previously spent nearly a decade at Disney serving in a variety of roles focused on corporate strategy and business development, and she also worked as a VP in the investment management division at Goldman Sachs from 1999 to 2008.
Dekic is based out of Genius Brands’ LA headquarters and will report to CEO Andy Heyward, who said in a release that mergers and acquisitions will continue to be an “important component” of the company’s growth plan. Former CFO Bob Denton has shifted into a new position as EVP of finance and accounting.
Earlier this month, Genius Brands announced plans to acquire a 28.6% stake in Germany’s Your Family Entertainment (YFE). The company also bought Canadian prodco Wow! Unlimited Media in October, and marketing and media agency ChizComm in 2020.
