Deals of the Week: Sky, HBO Max, Cyber Group

KIDZ Bop gets festive, Odd Squad heads to LatAm, and Baby Shark dives into NFTs.

Sky

The UK broadcaster has ordered Merry KIDZ BOP Christmas (pictured)—the first-ever KIDZ BOP holiday special—to air exclusively on its platforms. The 45-minute special will see the brand’s kid performers from around the world sing popular Christmas songs and share their families’ holiday traditions. Merry KIDZ BOP Christmas will launch on the on-demand platform Sky Kids one day after its December 5 premiere on Sky Showcase.

This new project marks an expansion of previous collaborations between Sky and KIDZ BOP, which include song-and-dance workshops and a 20 x five-minute series.

HBO Max

WarnerMedia’s streamer has picked up the first two seasons (75 x 22 minutes) of Sinking Ship Entertainment’s Odd Squad to air in Latin America next year.

Fred Rogers Productions and Sinking Ship co-produce the STEM-focused comedy live-actioner for PBS KIDS and TVOKids. It’s in its third season since debuting in 2014, and centers around a group of kid agents solving unusual problems with science and math.

Cyber Group Studios

European licensing agent J&M Brands has been appointed to represent the Paris-based prodco’s Gigantosaurus series (104 x 11 minutesin Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

The CG-animated preschool show stars several dino friends who explore the world and seek out information about the mythical Gigantosaurus. It premiered worldwide on Disney Junior in 2019, and is now in its third season and airing in more than 194 territories.

Pinkfong 

Baby Shark is swimming into NFT (non-fungible tokens) waters for the first time through a new deal with digital art marketplace MakersPlace. Launching on December 2, each token in the range will feature animated art depicting Baby Shark and his family, as well as the Baby Shark song.

The Baby Shark brand began as a YouTube video that went viral, and it now boasts an animated series and a feature film from Nickelodeon.
