UK productions took home four of the seven 2017 International Emmy Kids Awards handed out yesterday at the fifth-annual event honoring the best in global children’s programming. At a ceremony held during MIPTV in Cannes, the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the winners in partnership with Reed MIDEM.

Animated property Hey Duggee (pictured) from UK Studio AKA dominated the Preschool category, while Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer’s Llamas from UK-based Aardman Animations reigned supreme in the Kids Animation division. The television special follows Shaun as he attempts to save his farm from three mischievous llamas.

Horrible Histories—the British sketch comedy series from Lion Television—took home the prize in the Factual category. For Best TV Movie/Mini-Series, UK-based Headline Pictures and Juliette Films won the Emmy for Peter & Wendy. The feature, which just sold to FOX Premium Family in Latin America, tells the story of Peter Pan through the imagination of a chronically ill girl at modern-day Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The Emmy for Digital Content went to Doodles, an Australian interactive multiplatform comedy series from Ludo Studio, ABC3 Australia, Screen Australia and Screen Queensland. The show takes children’s drawings and ideas from around the world and turns them into animated episodes.

The Emmy for Non-Scripted Entertainment was handed to Ultras Sorte Kageshow (Baking in the Dark). The baking competition from Danish Broadcasting Corporation features four children attempting to create the best cake, all in the dark.

Rounding off the winners, Kasper en de Kerstengelen (Casper and the Christmas Angels) was recognized as the top dog in the Series category. The Netherlands-based show from Avrotos and NL Film & TV  follows the young ghost as he trains to become an astronaut.
