HIT Entertainment’s Thomas & Friends will be the latest property to get made over as a movie projector kit that’s slated to hit mass retail this fall.

A new deal with Reader’s Digest Children’s Publishing covers development of The Thomas & Friends Movie Theater Storybook & Movie Projector, which comes with a projector shaped like the popular character and 10 picture disks that relay his adventures. The disks are inserted into the projector and kids can read along as the images are projected on a wall. Existing SKUs built around the likes of SpongeBob SquarePants, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men and Spider-Man have sold more than four million units worldwide thus far. The Thomas & Friends title will be available through traditional and online retailers throughout the US and Canada at the beginning of October for an SRP of US$24.99.
