Stephanie Sperber—former president of partnerships and licensing at Universal Studios—is launching an L.A.-based full-service licensing shop called White Space Entertainment, where she will serve as chairman and CEO.

White Space is designed to extend the revenue cycle of a property while supporting creators as they work to build new franchises. The firm’s goal is to maximize brands on a global basis through both traditional and digital platforms and partners.

Currently, White Space counts Dr. Seuss, Uglydolland DR1 drone racing league among its clients and is working on the launch of the all-new franchise Benji. It’s also providing branding, marketing and retail consulting services to game developer Starbreeze, as well as Sony and STX studios.

Previously, Sperber oversaw global consumer products and retail for Universal Pictures and NBC Networks, digital gaming, product placement and promotions worldwide. She developed the global strategy, sales and marketing execution for the Despicable Me franchise across all consumer products platforms, and managed campaigns for Fast & Furious, Jurassic Park and Dr. Seuss during her time with the company.
