Cookie Jar Education, the educational publishing division of Toronto, Canada’s Cookie Jar Group, has promoted Roger Posacki to COO and appointed Tom Purcell as SVP of finance.

As COO, Posacki is now responsible for the day-to-day operations of the core retail business, and is also overseeing the school division, unique collating and bindery and HighReach Learning. Prior to joining the company, he served as GM for the Canadian division of Binney and Smith, a subsidiary of Hallmark Cards that manufactures and markets art products for children and adults and most notably houses the Crayola brand.

Meanwhile, Purcell hails from Educate Inc., a company focused on supplementary learning for kids ages five to 17 that includes Sylvan Learning Centers and the Hooked on Phonics brand. Both Purcell and Posacki are based in Cookie Jar’s Greensboro, North Carolina office.
