Although the long-awaited Transformers live action movie from DreamWorks, Paramount and Hasbro isn’t hitting wide release until July 4, residents of Rhode Island will get a sneak-peek at the flick next month, and it’s all in the name of charity.
The special premiere is scheduled for June 28 in the Providence Place Cinemas, and ticket sales will benefit four local organzations: The Rhode Island Community Food Bank, Autism Project of Rhode Island, Adoption Rhode Island and Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Movie-goers will get to choose which charity will get their ticket-price donation.
The evening features a premiere party and light dinner beginning at 6:15 p.m., with the movie screening to follow at 7:30 p.m. Special bags and commemorative tickets are part of the US$75 cost, and the evening is being underwritten by Hasbro.
