• San Francisco, California-based Viz Media has licensed animated series Naruto to SBT in Brazil. SBT is one of the country’s largest television networks and is expected to debut the 52 ep anime series in the second half of 2007.
• Toei Animation and Spanish brand-management company Elastic Rights have scored a hat-trick for series Pretty Cure, landing concurrent sales with three Spanish broadcasters: Jetix, Cuatro and Clan TVE. Jetix starts airing the series on June 25 with Clan TVE following on June 28, and Cuatro starting its rollout in July.
• Cartoon Network Enterprises and D3Publisher of America are combining forces to develop a Nintendo DS game based on CN original series Ed, Edd n’ Eddy; Dubbed Scam of the Century, the game should hit retail shelves this fall.
