Dublin, Ireland’s Monster Distributes continues to add to its growing kids library, having just picked up 52 x five-minute series Lifeboat Luke, a rescue-adventure yarn aimed at the four to seven demo. Alastair McIlwain and Richard Morss (the pair behind Pepper’s Ghost preschool series Tiny Planets) have 13 eps in the can, and plan to have 39 more completed by April 2008.
Monster hopes that the series will follow the same path as Hermie and Friends which has just been licensed by Innoform Media for broadcast in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong, and by SAT7 for the Middle East and Africa.
Additionally, SDT (Poland) and Lighthouse (the Philippines) have scooped up 13 x 30-minute The Storykeepers, while DR Denmark, TV4 Sweden and Innoform Media (Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong) have bought all 52 eps of the two-minute preschool series I’m an Animal.
