A new live-action series that brings the disparate worlds of mythical creatures, magical beings and high school teens together is set to debut on Nickelodeon in the US.

Created and executive produced by Thomas W. Lynch (Make It Pop) and produced by DHX Media, with DHX Media’s Steven DeNure and Anne Loi also serving as executive producers, The Other Kingdom premieres on April 10 at 7 p.m. ET/PT. Following the series launch, Nick will air two new eps back-to-back on Sunday nights in the same time slot. Additional content and games are available on Nick.com.

The 20-episode first season stars Esther Zynn (pictured, Too Cool for School, Kid Witness) as fairy princess Astral, who is heir to the royal kingdom of Athenia. However, she chooses to enter the human world and enrolls in Theseus High School, where she meets friends Tristan, Morgan and Devon. All goes well until a sinister plot threatens the fairy kingdom and Astral is forced to choose between her new life or saving her homeland—and she only has 90 days to figure it out.
