NCircle Entertainment has inked a multi-year North American deal with Word World. The terms give NCircle the exclusive home entertainment rights to CGI series Word World, which will begin airing on PBS Kids in the US and TVO in Canada on September 3.
The literacy-based series targets three- to five-year-olds and is partially funded by the US Department of Education as part of the Ready To Learn Partnership literacy initiative. Each episode includes a narrative that features characters that also double as words.
For instance, kids can watch Frog, Sheep, Pig, Duck and Dog – all of whom are designed around the letters of their name – go on comic adventures that can only be completed by creating the correct word.
