Endeavoring to answer the question, ‘What do you get when you cross Steven Spielberg with YouTube?,’ L.A.-based ToyQuest has invented the RipRoar Creation Station, an electronics/toy hybrid that puts movie-making magic into kids’ hands.
Scheduled to hit mass retail this fall, the station (US$99.99) comes complete with the hardware and software systems required to create personal videos. With a full resolution camera and a mountable green screen and tripod, kids can record themselves in front of the green screen and produce their own short movie by cutting and pasting video and 2-D images and adding their own animation and music. Once completed, users can share their creations with family and friends via a special one-click feature that uploads the project directly to YouTube or any other on-line video sharing site.
