Glitter and sequins will take center stage as Jakks Pacific preps a new dolls, role-play and dress-up products, and craft & activity items inspired by the New York Times bestselling children’s book series Fancy Nancy. Licensors HarperCollins and United Media have tapped the Malibu, California-based toyco to produce the program-driving line targeting girls four to seven.
The new merch will hit major mass market retail in North America in time for spring 2008, joining current licensees Andrews McMeel Publishing (wall calendars), and Vancouver, Washington-based specialty drink mix company McSteven’s. The first book in the series, authored by Jane O’Connor, has been on the New York Times Children’s Bestseller list for more than 86 weeks.
