German brand manager m4e (Wissper) and European producer/distributor Planeta Junior (Mutant Busters) have secured a long-term co-production, distribution and consumer products partnership.

The deal will see several Planeta Junior family entertainment properties, and a crop of m4e’s projects currently in development, become jointly co-produced.

As far as distribution of each company’s audio visual rights catalog goes, Planeta Junior will cover France and Southern Europe, while m4e will focus on Central and Northern Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, North America, Africa and the Middle East. Both companies will jointly handle Eastern Europe.

In addition, Planeta Junior and m4e will together acquire rights and make their services available to third-party rights owners.

With offices in eight European countries including Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Poland and Benelux, the alliance is expected to strengthen both companies’ global business and provide expansion opportunities in new territories.

An announcement will follow regarding the name of the joint-branding venture.
