Spidey’s web snares more merch deals

Spider-Man Merchandising LP, the limited partnership between Sony Pictures Consumer Products and Marvel Entertainment, has expanded its merchandising program for upcoming toon series The Spectacular Spider-Man.

New partners for the latest instalment of the Spider-Man saga set to debut on Kids’ WB! in early 2008, include Hallmark (social expressions), AME (sleepwear/loungewear), KIDdesigns (electronics), Mad Engine (t-shirts) and Mega Brands (toys).

The new licensees join Hasbro (master toy licensee), Wear Me Apparel (master apparel), IMT (sporting goods), Fashion Accessory Bazaar (back-to-school and storage), Bendon Publishing (publishing), DecoPac (cake decoration), Giant Merchandising (t-shirts), Berkshire Fashion (headwear, cold weather and hosiery), Fast Forward (back-to-school), and Jay Franco (domestics) for the TV-driven merch program.

Marvel and Sony Pictures Television have given producer Culver Entertainment the greenlight on an additional 13 half-hours, bringing the current series run to 26 eps.
