Aardman International is expanding its portfolio of third-party properties, securing the worldwide TV, DVD and online rights to the award-winning half-hour stop-frame animated film, Peter and the Wolf.

Produced by BreakThru Films, this new filmed interpretation of classical composer Prokofiev’s musical work first aired on Channel 4 in the UK last year. BAFTA-award-winner Suzie Templeton adapted and directed the film set to a new recording of the piece from the Philharmonia Orchestra.

The film is developing quite the pedigree on the awards circuit; it’s just been shortlisted for an Oscar and has already won a 2007 Annecy audience award and the 2007 Pulcinella award for the Best European Programme of the Year at Cartoons on the Bay.
