• Nancy Bailey, founder of Nancy Bailey and Associates, and William ‘Bill’ Battle, founder of Collegiate Licensing Company, are the latest inductees to the LIMA Murray Altchuler Licensing Industry Hall of Fame. The pair will be feted at the Annual LIMA Awards Gala being held on June 11, 2008 at the Sheraton Towers and Hotel in New York City.
• Disney Channel is ringing in New Years with some UGC. Happy U Year will feature UGC-like music videos, shout-outs and New Year’s Eve countdowns submitted via DisneyChannel.com. The special airs on December 31 from 3 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and January 1 from 12 noon to 10:30 p.m.
• Watch out for that tree! George of the Jungle, the new animated series co-produced by Bullwinkle Studios and Studio B Productions based on the classic property, will premiere in its regular time slot on Cartoon Network on Friday, January 18 at 7:30 p.m. with an hour-long special.
• UK novelty manufacturer Mr Lucky Bags has licensed five HIT Entertainment properties, including Thomas the Tank Engine and Bob the Builder, for its Lucky Egg line. Each egg contains a selection of novelties, toys, sweets and stickers with the majority of its content sporting licenses.
