KidsCo gets off the ground in Asia

Fledging international net KidsCo has expanded its broadcast footprint again, adding the Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea, Hong Kong, South Africa and the Middle East to its territory coverage.

Fledging international net KidsCo has expanded its broadcast footprint again, adding the Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea, Hong Kong, South Africa and the Middle East to its territory coverage.

The channel, which is jointly owned by NBC Universal, Corus Entertainment and DIC Entertainment, launched on Sky Cable in the Philippines and on Showtime DTH satellite in the Middle East on January 1, and will launch into other Asian territories on March 20, 2008. A South African debut is planned for this August.

The net will also be adding the Ukraine to its Eastern European territories that currently incluce Russia, Poland, Hungary, Romania and Turkey this spring.
