MGM Studios is readying its newly reborn primetime reality series American Gladiators to do battle in the cartoon world.
In addition to launching a website and US tour, MGM and partner Flor-Jon, Films have put an animated series based on the combative franchise that first became a hit in the 1990s into development.
The latest live-action iteration of American Gladiators, hosted by former wrestling star Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali, recently bowed on NBC in the US and has been picked up for a second season after attracting audiences as large as 12 million viewers.
