• UK-based publisher Random House Children’s Books has launched the first two book titles based on Hana’s Helpline that’s currently airing on Five’s Milkshake! block. The publisher is planning to stagger the release of additional books throughout 2008.
• Scholastic has acquired the worldwide rights to March On! The Day My Brother Martin Changed the World, written by Dr. King’s older sister, Christine King Farris, and illustrated by artist London Ladd. The book is scheduled to be published in August 2008, to coincide with the 45th anniversary of the march on Washington.
• Nickelodeon is marking Black History Month with four special eps of Nick News airing every Sunday night throughout February. The eps will discuss issues relevant to black history, including slavery and the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., and will feature TEENick stars JJ, Raven Goodwin and Devon Werkheiser.
