Shigeo Fukuchi has been officially installed as president of Japan’s national broadcaster NHK.
The former advisor to the Board of Asahi Breweries will oversee all operations at the broadcaster and is charged with expanding and enhancing the net through terrestrial and digital channels.
Fukuchi replaces Genichi Hashimoto who stepped down yesterday after his three year term expired. He joined Asahi Breweries in 1957, and in 2000 became the firm’s president and COO.
