Splash Entertainment-owned VOD kids platform Kabillion has secured distribution deals with US satellite provider DISH and American SVOD service Hulu for classic Latin American toon El Chavo and equestrian-themed children’s series Wendy.
The licenses, Kabillion’s first with DISH and Hulu, make Televisa’s Mexican series El Chavo Animado and Red Kite’s Wendy immediately available to DISH subscribers of the Heartland Package and DISH Movie Pack and are accessible in DISH’s VOD library via set-top-box and the DISH Anywhere app.
Meanwhile, CGI-animated series Wendy (26 x 24 minutes), produced by UK-based Red Kite Wendy for Wendy Promotions, is now available to stream on Hulu.
Aimed at six- to 11-year-olds, Wendy follows the equestrian-centered life of a teenage heroine and the daily adventures she encounters with her friends and family.
El Chavo Animado is based on the most-watched television sitcom in Mexican history, the Roberto Gómez Bolaños-created El Chavo del Ocho.
In additional Kabillion news, the network recently acquired Casper’s Scare School and George of the Jungle from Florida-based distributor Broadcast Partners.
Kabillion is currently available in more than 50 million US homes and is ranked among the top 10 free on-demand networks for kids in the US.
