One-liners: Noteworthy news nuggets

• After more than a year of 'will it or won't it' speculation, Advanstar has confirmed it's picking up and moving Licensing International to Las Vegas for 2009. The event will take place at Mandalay Bay Resort June 2 to 4, 2009. The 2008 show, however, will run as scheduled at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City from June 10 to 12.

Jetix Europe has picked up Studio B Productions' Kid vs. Kat for early 2009. Jetix now holds distribution rights for the 52 x 11-minute toon across Europe and the Middle East, including Pay-TV and Free-TV, home video and consumer products. DHX Media's distribution subsidiary Decode Enterprises will handle TV, home entertainment and merchandising and licensing rights for the rest of the world.

Cartoon Network Enterprises has signed four more licensees for Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, with Horizon Imports (hosiery), Boston American (personal care), Freeze (t-shirts) and Design International Group (stationery) rolling out product this coming spring.

• Toronto, Canada-based Shaftesbury Films, the producers of the hit comedy series Life with Derek, and Family Channel have partnered on the new half-hour teen comedy series OVERRULED! Commissioned by Family Channel, the series is scheduled to air later this year on the Canadian net and on Disney Channel in the U.S.

• Toronto, Canada-based CCI Entertainment and Scholastic Media have secured presales for the comedy CGI series Turbo Dogs to Canadian pubcaster CBC and qubo in the US. qubo has already slated the series for its fall schedule, while CBC has yet to announce a slot.

Toei Animation will debut new eps of its animated seriesMaster Hamsters at Kidscreen Summit. Twenty-six half-hour episodes will be available for broadcast sale at the event.
