St. Louis, Missouri-based Precious Moments has inked a partnership with Sabella Dern Entertainment to produce a series of Precious Girls Club movies for distribution starting in 2009.
The new brand is designed to entertain and educate girls age four to eight from a spiritual perspective. The movies will be introduced in select theaters nationwide through Kidtoon Films, a digital theatrical matinee program of animated G-rated films that has exhibited such family favorites as Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake and Arthur.
The first Precious Girls Club film is slated to premiere in August 2009, with a DVD release to follow in October.
Precious Moments was created by Sam Butcher in the 1970’s, when he began drawing the teardrop-eyed children as gifts for family and friends.
