CBeebies has commissioned RDF Group’s The Foundation to produce Way to Blue (working title) for the channel’s 2009 sked.
The new 100 x 20-minute series mixes live-action and animation and revolves around the story of children who are transported to Nara, a world populated with animated creatures called Piplings.
The executive producer for the BBC is Sarah Colclough with RDF’s Nigel Pickard, Vanessa Hill and Angus Fletcher taking executive producer creds on behalf of the prodco. The series originated from an idea hatched by Dan Good (Absolutely Cuckoo), who is a creative consultant on the series.
RDF Kids & Family, a division of RDF Rights, holds worldwide rights in all media to the property and will distribute Way to Blue to the global preschool market.
