Toronto, Canada-based Spin Master has announced two deals with DreamWorks Animation, one that sees the toyco pick up the master toy license for upcoming preschool reboot Noddy, Toyland Detective, and another to renew its licensing deal for the How to Train Your Dragon franchise.

For TV series Noddy, Toyland Detective, Spin Master will release a range of toys (figures, playsets, vehicles, games), slated to hit shelves in fall 2016.

Created by children’s author Enid Blyton in 1949, Noddy made his first appearance in Noddy Goes To Toyland, published in 1949. In the upcoming series, which is slated to debut on France 5 next spring, Noddy has a more contemporary look and a newly established role as Toyland’s resident sleuth.

Commissioned by France Télévisions, Noddy, Toyland Detective is produced by Gaumont Animation in association with DreamWorks Animation Television.

In addition, Spin Master has renewed its global license for DWA’s How to Train Your Dragon franchise.

As part of the continuing license, fans of the franchise can expect to see a variety of new toys, including figures, playsets, plush and flying toys. Toys supporting How to Train Your Dragon 3 will be on shelves worldwide when the third instalment of the franchise is released in June 2018.

The news comes just days after Spin Master scooped up the global master toy rights for the upcoming 3D-animated movie The Secret Life of Pets, produced by Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures.
