France Telecom has picked up Jetix Europe channels and other non-linear video content for distribution via its Orange network.
Jetix will be available to Orange customers in the UK, Portugal, Romania, Poland and Moldova. The deal is the first of its kind for Jetix and supports its strategy to make content available across multiple media outlets.
Localised Jetix channels will be streamed to Orange customers in Poland, Romania and Moldova. The deal also includes the creation of a tailored loop of Jetix programming for Orange UK users and VOD package for Optimus customers in Portugal.
In Poland, Orange will include both Jetix and Jetix Play channels as part of its offering in order to appeal to both ends of the kids demo. Other territories are also in discussion and these may be included as part of the deal for rollout in 2008.
Orange currently has over 3.2 million mobile broadband customers who will have access to the new Jetix service.
