Columbia Records has signed the tween star of Nickelodeon’s iCarly Miranda Cosgrove as part of the global partnership between Nick and Sony Music Label Group.
The first Cosgrove release, dubbed iCarly iPlaylist, will feature songs inspired by the popular live-action TEENick series, among other exclusive tracks from popular artists such as Natasha Bedingfield and Avril Lavigne.
Four original songs performed by Cosgrove are also making the cut and the CD will hit major traditional and online retail outlets on June 10.
Since iCarly‘s launch, more than 100,000 videos have been uploaded to its companion website, which has received more than 11.6 million visits and averaged 2.8 million monthly visitors in the first quarter of 2008.
